the new series

We will be starting a new series on Wednesday, March 16. For those who don't have a calendar handy, that is two weeks away. In case you are wondering what is happening the next couple of weeks, the schedule looks like this:

• Wed, March 2 - Q & A Night (bring your best questions. Stump Doug. Yeah, like that'll happen.)
• Wed, March 9 - Joel does the talk (I think he wants to talk about the greatness of TROMBONES.)
• Wed, March 16 - The start of SATURATED

So, anyway, I'm pumped about this new series. It is really cool how God has led me to this series. I think that it will challenge all of us (myself included) about the way we view, talk and think about sex. I think this would be a great series to invite friends to. I am gonna try my darndest to tackle this topic in a way that could introduce Christianity to someone. If there is any topic that causes people to misunderstand Christians, this is probably it. Hey, and if you are reading this and you are a teenager in New Orleans who has never come to our youth ministry, we would love to have you check us out!

Welcome

Hello and welcome! I am SO BAD at emailing and calling and keeping up with old friends...so this is my solution! I want this blog to be a place to come to if...

...you wanna find out what is going on with the Connection Youth Group (the youth group at Berean Bible Church in New Orleans, I am the youth pastor) . That probably means that you are either a teenager or a youth group alumni or an adult at Berean or just some curious person. I'll try to post the happenings. I'll also try to get a little transparent and let you know my latest thoughts and ideas on our ministry.

I am excited to be part of a ministry that reaches out to teenagers. They are some of the coolest people I know. I definitely wouldn't be the hip guy I am today if it weren't for them.

...you wanna find out what is happening with my family. So maybe you are related to me or went to school with me or something like that and you are tired of just getting emails from Crystal and never hearing from me. There is a ton of stuff going on with us. I'd love to catch you up! Our son Sam is 14 months old (where are those pics?), Crystal is pregnant with our second child in May, and we just bought our first house.

...you wanna find out what the heck is going on in Doug's head! So, I'm not always too good about letting people know what's really going on. I'm trying to do better. I promise! So this weblog will let you into the dangerous place that is Doug's mind...at least every once and a while.
